Day 1 YEHLIU — JIUFEN —SHIFEN — PINGXI

Overview
Hotel in downtown Taipei City or Exit 2 of MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station (BL14 /O07)
Depart at 07:30am

After meeting with the tour guide in the morning, depart from Taipei City by bus to the center of Taiwan—Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area.

Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area
Sun Moon Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Taiwan, known for its picturesque scenery. It is the homeland and sacred site of the Thao indigenous people.
Ita Thao
Located beside Sun Moon Lake, Ita Thao is the Thao people's settlement and a hub for local food and souvenir shops. The old street here has become a must-visit spot for both domestic and international travelers.
Ci'en Pagoda
Built at an altitude of 954 meters on Shabalan Mountain, the Ci'en Pagoda was constructed in memory of Chiang Kai-shek's mother. The pagoda is 46 meters tall, and its peak reaches an altitude of 1000 meters. It is one of the landmarks of Sun Moon Lake, offering a majestic and stunning view.
Xuanzang Temple
This Tang-style temple is dedicated to the high monk Xuanzang and houses his precious relics and scriptures. Situated in an excellent location beside the lake and mountain, it is renowned for its beautiful setting, known as "Qinglong Playing with Pearl." It holds significant historical and cultural value.
Wenwu Temple
A majestic Taoist temple with three halls, dedicated to the worship of Guan Sheng Emperor, Confucius, and Wen Chang Emperor, among other deities. It is an important place to understand the history and culture of Sun Moon Lake.

Day 2 SUN MOON LAKE - TAINAN – KAOHSIUNG

Overview
After a hearty breakfast, you will begin your second day of the island tour by heading to Tainan, Taiwan's oldest city, known for its rich history and culture.
Tainan was one of Taiwan’s earliest developed regions, famously referred to as “One Fu, Two Lu, Three Monga.”


Anping Fort
Visit Taiwan’s first fort, learning about its history from the Dutch to the Japanese era.
Anping Old Street
Stroll through Anping Old Street, tasting local specialties like tofu pudding, shrimp rolls, fish skin, and beef soup.
After lunch, travel to Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s bustling southern city known for its industrial port and vibrant transformation into a cultural hub.

Explore Kaohsiung and its harbor city development.
Fo Guang Shan
Visit Fo Guang Shan and the Buddha Memorial Center to see the tallest standing Buddha statue in Southeast Asia and learn about Buddhist culture.

Day 3 KAOHSIUNG - KENTING - TAITUNG

Overview
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you will board the bus and head to the southernmost point of Taiwan, Kenting.

Kenting National Park

Taiwan's first national park, located at the southern tip of the Hengchun Peninsula, surrounded by the sea on three sides. It features a tropical climate and diverse natural landscapes, making it a paradise for surfers and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Cape Cat Nose (Maobitou)

A massive coral reef rock shaped like a crouching cat, formed over time through erosion by waves. Its stunning appearance makes it a must-see spot.

Sailing Boat Rock (Chuanfan Rock)

A coral reef rock about 18 meters high, resembling a giant sailboat from a distance. Some people also think it looks like a portrait of former U.S. President Nixon. It is a popular photo spot.

Eluanbi Lighthouse

Located at the southernmost tip of Taiwan on Eluanbi Cape, this lighthouse has undergone several reconstructions and is one of Taiwan's eight scenic spots. It is an important historical landmark in the area.

Longpan Park

A vast tropical grassland and limestone plateau, where visitors can enjoy the sea breeze and take in breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. It's a perfect spot for sightseeing.

  • Please arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes earlier than the pick-up time.
  • Each guest is allowed to bring one piece of carry-on baggage.

    • Within 14-32 days (including the 14th & 32th day): 70% of total amount will be charged for any changes or cancellation.
    • Within 14 days of departure: tour will be NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-CHANGEABLE.
    • Modification is subject to availability. Calgary Tours reserves the final right of the amendment.

    Additional fees, including but not limited to associated credit card or wire transfer service charges, will be applied to any cancellation or amendment request. Cancellation policy will be applied to below modifications: reducing the number of travelers, and changing; optional admissions & group meal purchase, as well as amending extended hotel stay.
