At the foot of Mt. Yotei, the Fukidashi Park in Kyogokou has been beloved by people for ages for its delicious spring water, and was selected by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the top 100 pure waters in Japan. The spring is formed from rain and snow that fell on Mt. Yotei for many decades and is an authentic natural spring. The temperature is 6℃ throughout the year and is mineral rich, so many people bring containers to take water back with them. Kyogoku is located in western Hokkaido, is a small town on the eastern side of Mt. Yotei with a population of about 3,500 people. Nevertheless it is a beautiful place to enjoy the scenery and clean water, and more than 800,000 tourists per year visit.
